Platform, Chassis and Powertrain
This model comes with a front-engine, front-wheel-drive setup and runs on a permanent magnet synchronous motor. The car produces a maximum of 140 kW of power and uses a lithium iron phosphate battery cooled by liquid. With a full charge, it offers a driving range of up to 431 km based on the NEDC standard. It supports DC fast charging, though it requires an external adapter. Energy consumption is listed at 13.5 kWh per 100 km. The vehicle uses a McPherson front suspension and a multi-link setup at the back for better control and ride quality.
Technology Features
The E-QM5 is equipped with Hongqi’s smart connection system, allowing updates over the air and remote control features without needing to link a phone. Safety starts with its strong battery structure made from honeycomb-style aluminum. The battery passed 16 different safety tests including fire and compression. For active protection, the car includes automatic emergency braking (AEB), forward collision warning (FCW), and driver fatigue alerts. It also comes with multiple airbags, ABS, EBD, ESC, traction control, and more. Extra features include tire pressure monitoring, ISOFIX child seat mounts, a reversing camera, and brake energy recovery. Driving modes include Economy, Standard, and Comfort, while uphill assist and auto hold features make city driving easier.
